Over years, my Craftsman LT 1000 riding mower developed a nasty habit: it became hesitant to start. And then running rough. Initially I thought of bad battery or starter. Replaced both. Cleaned carb, replaced air and gas filter and spark plug. No avai It felt like the starter just dont have enough power to crank the engine. This lead me to think of stuck exhaust valve. Took off the valve cover, checked the valve lash. Omg: the exhaust valve gash was like 1/8 inch!! Completely out of tune.
